The European Institute of Communication's 2007 Graduation Ceremony was held on Monday, October 8th, 2007 in the Tara Towers Hotel. In excess of 100 students were awarded their scrolls from 14 courses run in three venues. Guest of Honour, Government Chief Whip, Tom Kitt T.D. was joined by guests Mr. Gerry Davis, Chief Executive Officer of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII), and Annmarie Jordan, Education Coordinator of the PRII.

In addition to the highlight of the evening - the graduates being awarded their scrolls - the Institute was honoured to present the inaugural European Institute 'Carmel Hegarty' Award. The Academic Council unanimously agreed to make this presentation to Annmarie Jordan, Education Coordinator of the PRII. In his speech, Eugene Grey paid tribute to Annmarie's dedication and personal commitment to all the PRII students and praised her professional contribution to the world of communications noting that in excess of 1700 students had graduated from the Diploma in PR and as a result were now shaping Ireland's role within the communications and PR industry.
Lecturer Ian McKeever was also acknowledged for his three incredible world breaking records this year with the European Institute R.J. Doyle Award. Ian climbed the world's highest 7 mountains, including Elberus, Mount Everest, Carstenz Pyramid etc, in the shortest time ever, to break the world record. He then went onto climb Snowy Mountain in Australia to be the fastest man to climb a combination of the world's highest mountains in the shortest time and as a result broke his third world record. In all, Ian McKeever has broken 11 world records.
