UK SURVEY SHOWS PR QUALIFICATIONS IMPROVE JOB PROSPECTS
An inaugural qualifications trends survey has shown a link between career progression and holding a professional communications qualification.
The survey conducted by the UK's biggest provider of theChartered Institute of Public Relations'course shows that 80% of respondents believed a professional qualification would improve their career prospects.
The survey included current and past students to find out more about their status, views on professional qualifications, as well as what the current trends in qualifications were for communications practitioners.
The survey revealed 28% of respondents had a 'Director' or 'Head of' title. Meanwhile, 65% of respondents indicated that their employers paid for them to study for a professional qualification.
With most students choosing to study for professional qualifications when they are operating as Executives, Officers or Managers, these figures would also seem to support the link between qualifications and career progression.
