Practical Skills Workshop
Workshop Overview:
This practical workshop has been designed for those candidates who want to write effective press releases to disseminate news to the media – both traditional and online mediums.
A maximum of 6 candidates will be accepted onto each programme to ensure that each participant will be able to maximise their involvement for optimum results. The course facilitator has in excess of two decades experience as a practicing industry award winning PR consultant with former directorships of two major charities in Ireland.
Workshop Content:
a. Understanding the purpose and layout of the press release - the inverted pyramid
b. Researching and preparing the content to deliver effective news worthy stories
c. Writing the press release – practical writing sessions
d. Using quotations
e. Effective notes to the editor
f. Disseminating the press release – knowing your media

Practical workshops where you learn and put it all into practice. Book for 3 workshops and attend the 4th free of charge.

Eugene Grey FPRII FEIC FIIC MCIPR MIITD is Group Managing Director of the Communications Group PR. He is also Director of Education at the European Institute of Communications, Ireland’s leading PR facilitators of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland’s (PRII) national PR academic programme delivered at Post Graduate and Diploma level. He is a Fellow of the PRII, a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (MCIPR – UK), a member of the Confederation of European Public Relations Practitioners (MCERP – Europe), and a member of the Association of Event Management Educators (Founder Member FAEME – International).
