The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management held four major events at the end of April in Oslo: the Association Leaders Workshop, the General Assembly of Members, the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) and the launching of the Global Capabilities Framework.
Each of them connects with the mission and vision of the federation: to create networking spaces that contribute to the strengthening of the associative movement of communicators, to ensure the participation of members in the governance of the entity , to share knowledge from a global perspective and to guide the development of professionals by improving their communication, organisational and management skills, respectively.
In keeping with this vision of creating value for public relations professionals and the associations and academic bodies that bring them together, we have made significant changes to the bylaws. On the side of members, we have added a fourth category (educational and training organizations), in order to increase the range of entities that can join forces through the Global Alliance. And in the field of territorial development, we have approved the creation of regional councils, whose mission will be to strengthen the association in their geographical areas.
Overall, the changes introduced and the decisions made by the board are aimed at fostering the growth of the Global Alliance with an inclusive perspective in fulfilment of its mission: to unify the public relations profession, raise professional standards all over the world, share knowledge for the benefit of its members and be the global voice for public relations in the public interest.
